A time for wonder, connection and strong foundations!
The early years of Primary School are a time of curiosity, play and rapid growth. Learning environments are thoughtfully designed to inspire discovery and creativity, while strong relationships provide children with a sense of safety and belonging.
Explicit teaching builds strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and thinking skills, while guided play and inquiry allow children to explore ideas, develop problem-solving skills and grow in confidence. Learning is grounded in connection - to each other, to community and to the natural environment of our Wardandi Country.

A time of growth and exploration
Years 8 and 9 are a time for broad exploration and personal growth. Students engage in a wide range of subjects across all learning areas, including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Health and Physical Education, Performing Arts, Technology and Creative Industries, and Religious and Philosophical Studies.
Learning is guided by our Model of Learning, with lessons designed to be engaging, research-informed and purposeful. Students develop perseverance, self-regulation and a strong work ethic, while continuing to build confidence in their academic and personal capabilities.
Alongside academic learning, students strengthen study habits, digital skills and creative thinking, preparing them for the increased independence and challenge of the senior years.

From the sports field to the stage, we make space for every student to find and harness their spark. Through diverse co-curricular experiences, children learn to express themselves, to lead, and to grow beyond the classroom walls.

At Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School, we are committed to inclusive education and ensuring all students can access learning on the same basis as their peers.
The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) is a national process undertaken by all Australian schools each year.
It records the number of students receiving reasonable adjustments the supports and changes teachers make to help them participate fully in learning
Information collected is de-identified and used to better understand student needs, inform planning and strengthen inclusive practice across Australian schools. Families are consulted as part of the process, and privacy is carefully protected.
If you would like to discuss adjustments for your child or how the NCCD works at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School, our teachers and Student Support team are always happy to help.

We teach the Western Australian Curriculum through clear, explicit instruction. Key knowledge and skills are taught systematically and purposefully, helping students build confidence, mastery and understanding.

In the early years, explicit teaching is complemented by intentional play. As students move into Upper Primary, learning becomes increasingly inquiry-driven, encouraging independence, critical thinking and deeper connections across learning areas.

Student progress is closely monitored so learning can be extended, enriched or supported at the right time. Differentiated teaching, targeted intervention and extension programs ensure every child is both supported and challenged at their point of need.
